Yahoo! UK News Message Boards – Politics – The Telex Machine Is Kept So Clean
tafkasjw…That was an interesting lead to your ultimate question. I am an American, when we came to England we left our guns at home. Here I feel we live in a fairly low crime area so all is well.
Once upon a time, when I was a young woman, I lived in an apartment in a moderate part of Houston. One Friday evening my mother came to the city to visit and shop. We had finished dinner and were sitting on my sofa talking. I heard footsteps coming up the stairs to my door and thought nothing of it because I shared a landing with another apartment. All of a sudden there was all sorts of banging on my door and some man shouting and trying to get in. I looked out the window to see a man drenched in sweat staggering about. Mom grabbed the phone and I grabbed my pistol. Went to the door shouting, “the person you are looking for doesn't live here and I've called 911″. It didn't stop him and he was bound and determined to get in. Very soon we could hear the sirens and he left. After the police arrived they examined my door. There were cracks in the frame and it would not have withstood much more. I would have shot him if he had managed his way in.
I learned how to shoot a pistol and shotgun at about 11. I hold a handgun license in the state of Texas so I can own a weapon. Because we have small children we lock up most of the firearms so they are all but useless in an attack unless I have the time to get to the handgun in a lock box and the munition cartridge in a different room in a lock box or the gun safe that was downstairs. My shotgun was kept on a high ledge in the bedroom that I could scramble to, out of reach of the children, in the event someone wanted to harm my children or myself.
Again, I am an American and I really don't think that I should relinquish total responsibility for my safety to the response time of law enforcement.
I do sweat a lot giving an appearance as though iam working under stress/tension.?
Please give me some solution to reduce excessive sweating. Do you think antiperspirant really works? if yes which is the good.
